Lohri Celebration Invitation

Discovering the Face in the faces

We are in autumn and after the distractions of summer is the time to start the process of formation for adults who adhere to Catholic Action, a journey that comes from desire to grow in faith to face the everyday with an eye for a face, even in the face, that of Christ. The path, in fact, this year is the ideal center to capture the face of Christ and rediscover through the faces of those we encounter every day, faces denied, fraternal, disfigured and transfigured, not forgetting the figure of the Apostle Paul in the luminous face of the risen Christ was able to recognize the truth that until then had been unable to see. Benedict XVI in the crowded St. Peter's Square on May 4, 2008, he recalled the commitment of Catholic Action to "remain faithful to their roots of faith, nourished by full adherence to the Word of God, an unconditional love for the Church, by vigilant participation in civic life and a constant commitment to training and this commitment can not be fulfilled if not walking together in the light of the Gospel, in meetings of the sector and revive those that are the roots of the Association. But why focus on the Face? The face is the first thing everyone looks at when meeting a person, is part of the body that reveals the intentions of others, the condition of our party and this is something that is not always the same, but changes over time bringing the signs of experience. In our annual walk the face of the men turns into that of Christ and is a radiant face or sad, haunted or forgotten, but always charged with meaning that only the love of God that shines through. Our life is in fact made up of reports, meetings, and in the initial step of the training of AC are called to consider what connotations we give to the plot of the relationship with senior we encounter every day. "Tell me your name is the first section of the text that will follow this year, the name, we receive in Baptism, there goes all my life and remember what God did during creation: each new creative product of God received from him the name, what God did then, do our parents during the baptism. The second step is the rediscovery of the "Faces denied" that are found through Christ's suffering, the suffering that none of his disciples was expected, since for them, Christ was to be the liberator of the people of Israel from the Roman supremacy. And instead denied the face of Christ's suffering will be more upset that his apostles, who tried fear of the transfiguration of the face of Jesus on the Mount as evidence before the bloody face of Christ crucified. After discovering the suffering face of the world, we are called to dwell on the face of brotherly people living everyday life of service, a service where the joins being done, where the compromise of person reminds us of the events of Holy Thursday, when Christ is at the service of his washing the feet of everyone in an act of deep humility and a gift. The service should be directed to the many disfigured faces of our age, faces that remind us of that of Christ crucified, and we often fail to look and see, in our rush to appear. But if we give ourselves the other, transforming ourselves we also know, that strip us of abandoning ourselves obedient love of the Father. Thus, we become the faces of hope, able "to revive the sense to live, love, work, suffering and even dying." The guide for this program ends with the text produced during the thirteenth meeting of the AC, where they reaffirmed the priorities for our Association, especially in terms of training for others and for ourselves. Just to accept the invitation of the Holy Father to keep alive the roots of our faith and to be the faces of hope for those who are disfigured in the dignity of man, this year we also want to meet up every two weeks for a training meeting, where this route and grow in faith. The meetings, open to all, will be held on Wednesday, according to the timetable will be announced in the first week of October and will be accompanied by meditation before Jesus in the Eucharist on Thursday evening to draw from him the strength to overcome the laziness and selfishness and be missionaries as was the apostle Paul.
